In November 1985, after graduating from Stetson University College of Law with honors, Mr. McDermott formed the law firm of Michael J. McDermott, P.A.  Mr. McDermott soon distinguished himself as a skilled business and commercial litigator and earned an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest rating an attorney can receive and is based on peer reviews.  Mr. McDermott is currently listed in “Best Lawyers of America,” Florida Trends “Florida Legal Elite Top Business Law Practitioners,” and Tampa Bay Business Journal’s “Top Lawyers.” 

          In April 1993, after graduating from Florida State University College of Law with honors in 1991, Ricky L. Thacker, Esquire joined the firm of Michael J. McDermott, PA.  In January 2006 the two formed McDermott & Thacker, P.A.
